AUBURNDALE STREET STOCK CLASS RULES – 2024
***DRIVERS MUST PURCHASE A MINIMUM OF 5 GALLONS OF SUNOCO FUEL PER EVENT***
If the rules do not say you can do it, then don’t do it! Be sure to check the General Rules. All interpretations of rules by a Speedway Management or Speedway Technical Official are final. UNAWARENESS OR IGNORANCE IS NO EXCUSE!
1. CARS:
Any 1965 or newer American made car with a factory wheelbase of 101 inches minimum – must be within 1-inch tolerance of year, make and model.
No trucks or convertibles permitted.
Mirrors allowed, absolutely no radios!
***no phones or communication devices in car***
2. WEIGHT:
Minimum weight of 3,000 pounds, with a maximum of 55% on the left side. (coil spring car 58% max left side)
Aftermarket heads: ADD 50lbs
Aftermarket body, fiberglass, aluminum, or steel, Slab sides okay (Must be approved by tech) Add 50LBS
You must retain the stock firewalls front and stock floor pan or add 50 Pounds
Weight may be added to any competitor to ensure fairness of competition at the discretion of Speedway officials.
All lead and ballast must be painted white and have a car number printed on it. Must be mounted with ½ inch bolts per 50 pounds. No tungsten may be used for ballast.
3. BODY:
Stock Appearing Body. Factory roof must be retained. May replace any rotted metal with 22 gauge or thicker sheet steel or aluminum.; May bring sides of car out to the outer edge of tires but may not exceed past the outside of the left or right-side tires.
After market body and/or roof, fiberglass, aluminum, or steel, Slab sides okay (Must be approved by tech) Add 50LBS
Stock steel bodies, after-market fiberglass or aluminum bodies or fabricated bodies, Subject to tech approval. Roof height 46” minimum, 36 ½ maximum quarter height, 48” front overhang and 47” rear overhang. 4-inch max rake from the top of front doors to top of rear quarter panels at furthest point!
You must retain the stock firewalls front and stock floor pan or add 50 Pounds
All holes in the firewall must be covered over for safety.
The bumper must be looped back into frame.
Front and rear bumper covers are allowed.
Tube bumpers should follow bumper diagrams on track site diagrams.
May run fiberglass hood. No forward-facing scoop or forced air type scoops.
Stock rocker panels may be removed.
May run spoiler 6 inches tall x 60 inches wide. No forward bracing or side wings
May run aftermarket rocker panels.
All cars must have a full, clear Lexan windshield or screen that covers all of the front window. If using a screen you must have (3) 1/2″ vertical bars in front of the driver!
4. CHASSIS and SUSPENSION:
Must be for the year, make and model of car.
Lower a-frames must remain stock. All suspension mounting points must be in stock location.
Lower a-frame must be stock, un-altered, in stock location with stock ball joint. OEM.
May use #2 spindles on GM cars.
Outer tie rod ends may be replaced with Heim ends.
No bump stops.
May run tubular upper control arms on front suspension 1 inch longer or shorter than stock length maximum. No slotted cross shafts. Any ball joint is ok. Upper a-frame upper ball joint hole in spindle may be reamed to accept after-market ball joint.
Adjustable spring bucket in the front and wedge bolts in front allowed.
Any racing springs and adjustable buckets on front suspension. Factory diameter springs for frames used. 8-inch minimum free height and 12-inch maximum free height on front springs.
Rear coil springs are to be a minimum of 5 inches in diameter and any free height.
No coil bound springs.
Leaf spring cars may run any size lowering block. Must be multi-leaf steel springs. No composite leaf springs. No adjustable lowering blocks. Rear Shackles may be multi hole adjustable.
Coil springs cars may run Jacking Bolts in the rear frame and may use adjustable upper rear control arms.
May use adjustable buckets or wedge bolts on front springs.
Shocks may be in stock location or may relocate shocks to outside using wedge bolts on front of cars.
*NO Penske shocks allowed.
*NO aluminum bodied shocks.
*NO adjustable shocks allowed.
*NO aluminum Heim joints.
*NO Schrader valves.
*NO canister shocks.
Shock Claimer:
Steel body non adjustable shocks only, no aluminum Heim joints. $75.00 claimer per shock – must forfeit own shocks.
All shocks must be mounted in relative stock location unless otherwise stated in these rules.
May tie uni-bodied cars together. May repair damaged frames with tubes. All suspensions must be returned to stock location.
Cars may be underslung.
The minimum ride height for frame and body is 4 inches Driver out of the car.
Lead must abide by the ride height rule.
May run steel or polyurethane bushings in suspension components.
5. CARBURETOR:
Factory Quadra jet 4 barrel or motor craft
Holley 4412. 4412 must pass track gauges. XP Holley Carburetor OK.
602 CRATE MOTORS (only) may run Unaltered Holley 650 HP 4150-80541 four-barrel with 1” aluminum spacer.
2 return springs mandatory!
May change jets, squirters, and power valves. Choke plate and shaft may be removed. The horn must remain stock height.
Air bleeds & squirters are optional.
1.625-inch carb spacer with gaskets maximum.
1.125-inch carb spacer with gasket maximum if 7101 or 7104 intake manifold is used.
Cold air boxes ok. may have a hole in the hood for air cleaner.
6. INTAKE:
May use Edelbrock 2101, 2701, 3701, 7101, or 7104 intakes. 7101 and 7104 must run 1.125-inch spacer rule. No “hi-rise” factory aluminum or marine intakes. GM Cast iron bowtie intakes OK.
No porting or polishing of intake manifolds. No painting, sanding, or grinding of intakes.
Ford engines may run Edelbrock 2181.
7. IGNITION:
Any 12-volt battery fired ignition (only).
Distributor may be locked or welded. OEM style HEI or points style.
Any performance ignition parts must be located under the stock distributor and coil cap.
No MSD boxes.
Any Rev Limiter allowed.
8. MISCELLANEOUS ENGINE:
Oil pan and valve covers the builder’s choice.
Pulley’s builder’s choice.
Stock style water pump – aluminum approved. No electric.
OEM or replacement fuel pumps.
Electric fans approved.
Racing power steering pumps and lines approved.
9. ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS:
Must be of manufacturer of car and mounted in stock location.
Engine and transmission mount optional. (Refer to Rule 1).
Maximum cubic inch displacement for General Motors – 350 c.i.d. – Ford – 351 c.i.d. – Mopar – 360 c.i.d.
Maximum over-bore is .060.
Four (4) bolt main approved. No splayed caps.
May zero deck the block.
Any harmonic balancer – no aluminum hubs.
No porting, polishing, or painting unless otherwise stated.
May clean-up the oil return holes in the valley and may install screens in oil return holes.
Cast crank – 48 pounds – Steel crank – 50 pounds (minimum). For the make and model of engine, it must be stock stroke. Aftermarkets approved – no knife edges. No polishing of throws. May be balanced. May only grind on counterweights.
Any stock length. 5.7 inches in 350. No polished beams.
Balancing approved only on top and bottom of rods.
Any 3-ring, 4-eyebrow flat top pistons, must use all 3 rings.
Floating piston pins approved.
All engine bolts are the builder’s choice. Studs approved.
10. GENERAL MOTORS (GM) 602 CRATE ENGINE:
May run 602 with factory seal bolts or track approved cable seals.
602 CRATE MOTORS (only) may run Unaltered Holley 650 HP 4150-80541 four-barrel with 1” aluminum spacer.
Crate 100 pounds penalty for non-seal bolt engine. The only exception is you are allowed to use the 604-crate engine oil pan, or 7-inch inexpensive oil pan. With retail of $150 or less.
11. CYLINDER HEADS:
Stock cylinder heads must be 63CC minimum.
Tech approved World Product, Dart, RHS, EngineQuest, and Vortec heads may be used, and must have the same specifications as stock head replacement.
World Product, Dart, RHS, EngineQuest, and Vortec heads must be 63CC minimum.
World Product, Dart, RHS, EngineQuest, and Vortec heads must have straight plus – no angle whatsoever!
World Product, Dart, RHS, EngineQuest, and Vortec heads must add 50lbs.
1.94-inch intake valves and 1.50-inch exhaust valves on GM engines.
Stock diameter valves for cylinder heads used on Ford and Mopar engines.
Ford is allowed 56 cc’s on the cylinder head.
Three (3) angle valve jobs approved. Final cut no more than 75 degrees and no deeper than 1/2 inch from final cut.
Stainless steel valves approved. No titanium valves.Race flow okay. Stock length only. No hollow stem valves.
Aftermarket valve springs approved. Maximum of 1.270 inches in diameter.
Stock diameter pushrods only – may be any length.
No porting or polishing of any kind, and no bowl cutting in the valve seat area.
Screw-in studs, guide plates, and stud girdles approved.
12. CAMSHAFT:
Hydraulic only. No roller cams.
General Motors maximum: .450 with 1.5 rockers with .003 tolerance.
Ford maximum: .480 with 1.6 rockers with .003 tolerance.
Mopar maximum: .480 with 1.5 rockers with .003 tolerance.
Roller rockers approved to the three (3) rules above. No shaft style rockers unless they were originally stock.
Long slot rockers approved.
13. TRANSMISSION:
OEM automatic transmission with all working gears and working torque converter.
10-inch minimum torque converter.
3-or-4 speed manual transmission approved. Must have all forward and reverse gears working. No lightening of any internal parts.
May use hydraulic clutch pedals and throw-out bearing, or slave cylinder.
OEM stock flywheel – 14 pounds minimum.
May use steel aftermarket flywheel – minimum 14 pounds.
10-inch minimum diameter clutch and pressure plate (no lightweight pressure plates). Disc must be full circle. No aluminum discs. Solid hub disc is OK.
No 5-or- 6 speed transmissions.
14. REAR-END
Full floater rear ends okay, no aluminum housings, carriers, spools, or lockers of any kind.
OEM correct make and model generation for car. Steel full spool or mini spool allowed. Welding is also allowed.
May use C-clip eliminators.
Ford – 9 inches allowed to factory width of car that is installed in. Must have steel components and solid axle shafts. May use a full spool or mini spool.
Ford 9 inch on four (4) link coil spring cars must have a lower trailing arm hole in the correct location from center of tube to center of the bolt hole. This will be strictly enforced.
No three (3) link set-up unless factory for year make and model. (Example 1982 and up Camaro). If you choose to run this stock suspension mounting points apply and it must be in the chassis and have strut front suspension.
No aftermarket lockers, Gleason’s, limited slip, or Tru-tracs.
15. BRAKES:
All four (4) brakes must work at all times.
Stock style pedal and master cylinder only.
May use factory proportioning valves.
May use stock standard or metric calipers.
May use rear disc brakes.
May have a single adjustable brake bias valve that is outside of the driver’s reach.
All brake calipers must be steel and factory replacement – no lightweight calipers.
16. EXHAUST:
Any down and under chassis header.
No tri-y headers.
3-inch maximum size for exhaust all the way.
Combine two-into-one and exit in NASCAR style flat. Must exit the right-side of the car.
MUST HAVE A MUFFLER, exhaust may exit through passenger door pipes inside car must be covered with steel shield for safety
17. WHEELS:
Maximum – 8-inch steel only. Any offset.
Maximum of one, 1 inch wheel spacer per wheel.
Minimum of 7/16-inch wheel studs with 1-inch lug nuts on all four (4) wheels.
18. TIRES:
American Racer Tires Only – Absolutely no tire soaking!
19. FUEL CELL:
Maximum: 22 gallons.
